ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
WASSE Applicants
Candidates must obtain passes in English, Core Mathematics. Integrated Science, and must also pass two Elective Subjects including Geography, elective Maths, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, Economics, Government, French, English Literature, Business and Ghanaian Language, with an aggregate of 20 or better at the WASSCE.
10.2 “A” Level Applicants
(iii) Such candidates must have 5 credits at the GCE “O” Level, including English and Mathematics.
(iv) 2 GCE “A” Level passes including Geography and any two (2) Subjects from the General Arts, Business and Science. Applicants must also obtain a PASS in the General Paper.
Mature And Other Applicants
(v) The basic requirement for admission is 5 credits at the GCE “O” Level, including English, Mathematics and Geography, or passes in English, Core Mathematics and Integrated Science, and any three Elective subjects, with an aggregate of 20 or better at the WASSCE.
(vi) Higher National Diploma (HND) Holders, Diploma in Business Administration (DBS) etc.
(vii) Candidates should be at least 25 years at the time of application.
(viii) Passing a qualifying examination conducted by the Faculty which shall form the basis of a short-listing of candidates for an interview.
(ix) Passing an interview.
ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS
Students are assessed by: presentations, class assignments, tests & quizzes and small projects, which would constitute the Continuous Assessment, and also an End-of Semester Examination. Continuous Assessment constitutes thirty percent (30%) of the total score of a course while End-of Semester examination constitutes seventy percent (70%).
REQUIREMENTS FOR GRADUATION
In order to succeed in this course students must: Attend lecture and take notes on the topics covered; Participate in lectures, in-class discussions, and in-class activities; Participate in course practical in the form of seminar presentations, field trips and industrial attachment; Visit professor or Teaching Assistants during office hours to clarify any questions throughout the semester; Study for mid-terms and the final exam well in advance of the exam dates.
To graduate, all undergraduate students in the Bachelor of Science Honours (BSc. Hon) in Environment and Development are required to achieve the following:
• A Minimum of 120 Credits
• Passes In All Required Courses
• A Pass in Long Essay/Project work/Dissertation
